Talisker 25 Assessment
Second taste: Bowmore Darkest

The meeting was held at the home of Russ and Julie Meyer on December 19, 2007.  The first bottle was a Talisker 25 procured by Kevin Gaw after a diligent search!  The second bottle was Bowmore Darkest provided by Russ Meyer.

The Talisker 25 set us back $205, but the majority of the tasters thought it was worth it for special occasions.  To the question, "Would you purchase this single malt?", a majority said yes, but they didn't mark their judging sheets, so I am unable to quantify the answers.

The following is the tasting comments for the Talisker 25:

Color
Golden straw.
Nose
Damp wood, melons, salt, and hay.
Flavor
Complex - salty, oily, earthy, honey.
Finish
Warm and long with finish of sweet tobacco.
Brief Comment
Heavenly - like a snug warm night in a mountain chalet.
