The meeting was held at Aaron Van Hooser's home. Our first selection was Poit Dhubh 21 year old purchased in Skye by Craig Sande during his trip to Scotland with Kevin Gaw in the spring of this year. It was a delightful dram and we are all sad that it is now just a memory.
The secondary tasting was Glendronach 12 year old provided by Kevin Gaw.
Poit Dhubh 21 Tasting Notes
Color: copper, amber.
Nose: Wood, fruit, chocolate, and vanilla.
Flavor: Creamy, oily, toasted almonds, spicey, sweet, smooth, orange, seet pineapple, and chocolate (obviously quite complex).
Finish: Long, smooth with straw, spice, and tart apples at the end.
Comment: Russ is quoted as saying, "Like the woman of your dreams: mysterious, complex, and exciting. An encounter you'll want to have again."
