The meeting was held at Clark Harrison's home.  Our first selection was Jura Superstition, 43%ABV.  It has no age listed.  The bottle was obtained by Kevin Gaw for $46.  The second tasting was an unusual single malt whisky from New Zealand called Millford.  It was aged in oak casks for 10 years.

Jura Superstition Tasting Notes

Color: We settled on copper/gold, although color assessments were variable.  In the bottle, it appeared darker, almost mahogany.

Nose: Caramel, apples, malty cereal with floral notes.

Flavor: Spicey, peppery, and oily.  With wather, it became sweet and creamy.

Finish:  Moderately prolonged with a gentle peppery finish.

Comment:  Members varied.  Some were impressed, and others dismayed.  Overall, it was felt to be a interesting scotch, but not spectacular.

Group score: 85 (range 80 to 89)
